Anthony + Katharine’s Engagement Photo Session

Something about this year has put me in a “forever summer” kind of mood. I don’t know what it is, but I am just dreaming of summer days! I am ready to be outside all day every day, take in the warm sunshine, and eat blueberries that taste like the sun. Anthony and Katherine’s Manassas VA engagement photos gave me all of those Virginia summer feels. Do you feel it, too?

This warm spring season gave us the perfect April evening for their session at the Manassas Battlefield Park, complete with mini clouds of gnats (lol) and a beautiful sunset! Katharine and Anthony are the sweetest, calmest couple, and were remarkably comfortable in front of the camera. If there is anyone I would want to hike with for gorgeous photos, it would be these two!

Also, fun fact: they have been taking dance lessons in preparation for their wedding! If you can’t tell in the photos, they are amazing! I was able to capture some of the cutest dancing shots that I am absolutely in love with! Capturing motion and movement in such a romantic way makes my photographer heart squeal!

Planning Your Engagement Photos at the Manassas Battlefield Park

The Manassas Battlefield Park is a gorgeous park in Northern Virginia. It’s stone bridge, rippling creek, and extensive meadows make it an idyllic location for photos! I’m sharing a few tips for planning your session below:

• Wear bug spray. It is a true Virginia park complete with hiking trails and a little creek that runs through it. Naturally, it can be a little buggy!
• Be prepared for a mini hike. You can do a little walking or a lot of walking, depending on which spot/s in the park you are hoping to capture. Be sure to wear or bring the right shoes for a little uphill, downhill mini hikes!
• Coordinate wearing white or light-colored neutrals. Personally, when the setting is very green, I love light colored neutrals or a white dress as Katharine wore here! I love the way it pops against the green and also reflects light into your faces!
