We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for Nick and Emilia’s engagement session at the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. The weather was idyllic and thankfully, there were no. more. cicadas!!! Phew! We chatted pastries and wedding plans, and were surprised how quickly the time had passed! We are just over a month from their wedding day and I am so excited to feature more of their romantic engagement session and sweet love story on the blog today!

Nick & Emilia’s Love Story

How They Met

We met at our church. We bonded over talks on french pastries and elaborate cakes we had both made. We had separately noticed each other, but did not talk extensively until Nick sat next to me at the restaurant we all went to for his birthday dinner!

How He Proposed

Nick made chocolate eclairs and wrote out “I love you, will you marry me?” in white icing on the top of them. He surprised me with homemade pastries and put the ring in a big cream puff (the one with the questions mark on it). He put the ring (inside the box) in the pastry. He got down on one knee, opened the question mark and got the ring out when the time came!
