Have I ever shared that in my past life I worked as a food photographer?
Just kidding – that was only a couple of years ago 🙂 I have always had a deep love for food styling and photography. In fact, I went from zero to sixty when I styled and shot the Hospitality and Joy cookbook in 2016. I have since had the joy of photographing for many restaurants, on set of food shows, and even photographed a second cookbook that was published in 2020! During my three years in the Tri-state area, weddings and food made up 95% of my professional projects and I am so excited to bring that work to the DMV area this year!
Since the start of the year I’ve been working with a recipe developer and to say it has been fun would be an understatement! I am thoroughly enjoying trying new recipes and shooting for her on a weekly basis. It has also pushed me into doing a more light and airy style than what I did before.
As you’ll see in my highlights below, her recipes are inspired by fresh and fun ingredients that look as appealing as they taste! I whipped up a mini studio in my kitchen and have been utilizing its natural light to give her dishes a bright, clean look that makes the food look both delicious and beautiful.
Gather around the table and feast on some food photography highlights so far! More to come! 🙂
