If you ask Katherine and Adam how their love story began, they’ll tell you it started in the halls of the University of Maryland during their medical residency. First came friendship, then a slow-burn romance that kicked off with a quirky first date—crashing a friend’s blind date at Barcocina in Baltimore (yes, really).
Their story has all the best elements: friendship as the foundation, humor woven through each chapter, and a love of great food, good wine, and spontaneous adventures.
We met up in Georgetown last fall to document their engagement session – a golden-hued evening filled with laughter, crisp air, and soft city light dancing off cobblestone streets!
Katherine thought she was heading to a private magic show—something low-key and different, a fun way to spend an evening. What she didn’t know was that Adam had orchestrated an entire night of surprises.
The magician performed his set, and when Katherine was asked to help with a trick, she pulled out a gumball machine ring. Turning to laugh with Adam, she found him on one knee holding the real thing.
The surprises didn’t stop there: a rooftop bar photoshoot, a dinner at their favorite Italian spot, and both of their families (including all their nieces and nephews!) waiting to celebrate. A night full of magic indeed! 🙂
Georgetown is such a timeless choice for an engagement session—cobblestones, historic architecture, and just enough urban charm to make it feel special. Katherine and Adam’s session reflected who they are: stylish yet grounded, a couple who loves fine food and cozy nights in, long walks, and spontaneous date nights that include comedy shows and shared desserts.
Their chemistry made everything feel effortless, even though they’ll both admit they were a little camera-shy at first (you’d never know it!). Scroll for more of their dreamy engagement session in Georgetown!
