I am endlessly inspired by water and get excited for any opportunity to photograph seaside – or, in this case – riverside. I met Hugh and Megan on a weekday afternoon in Founder’s Park for their Alexandria Virginia maternity photos. This park is lovely as it is nestled within Old Town Alexandria’s quaint neighborhoods, is family-friendly, and has the Potomac River running through it. You can walk along the dock or take a short walk to Old Town Alexandria’s Main Street for food, shopping, or coffee! As I always recommend to clients – why not choose a location for your photos that can double as a date afterwards?
On this particular afternoon, the park was full of couples and families flying kites, walking along the riverbank, and enjoying the beautiful spring weather! For Hugh and Megan’s session, we focused mainly on the park’s gardens, the neighboring residential streets, and ended just before the sun set by the rocky riverbank overlooking the docked boats. It was an idyllic afternoon for a photo session!

The best time to schedule maternity photos is between 28 and 32 weeks. Once I receive your inquiry, we will schedule two dates – one for your planning call and one for your session date! Over the planning call, we will discuss location and what to wear. I will go over some frequently asked questions and be sure all of yours are answered as well.
