If only I could bottle up the newborn sweetness and keep it forever! There really is nothing like having, holding, and caring for a newborn baby – and, in my case – photographing a newborn! Newborn sessions are unique in that they are so peaceful…

It’s not often I get the opportunity to take senior photos. When Nicole asked me about doing her senior portraits, of course I said, “YES!” I used to babysit Nicole when she was THREE! She was my little photo muse when I was taking my very first film classes in high school. I can hardly believe this girl is now a grown up, beautiful young lady, and freshly graduated from high school. Now, she babysits my babies! What is this life?

I came home from Greece with a full schedule of shooting, editing, client meetings, and so much laundry (ha!). Meeting this sweet couple and their *adorable* new puppy, Teddy, was the best way to kick off such a marathon!

ne, Massachusetts maternity session was idyllic. It was golden hour in July. We met on a hill that overlooks the city of Boston; we walked up a beautiful brick path that is lined by hydrangea bushes and trees that filter the loviest, soft, golden light.

This sweet boy was 2.5 weeks old at his session. He was awake and alert through most of my time with him and was definitely feeling cozy when I wrapped him up!…

I am so excited to feature this beautiful family on the blog today! I cannot get over how ADORABLE they all are! They were sweet, easy going, and just so happy to be together! We met at the Manassas Battlefield Park for their family photo session and couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful summer day in Northern Virginia!

It felt so good to be back in the studio for this family session! I photographed Stephanie’s maternity portraits in the studio, which feels like yesterday! Fast forward a very quick six months and here I am, sharing photos of her family of FOUR on the blog today! 🙂

Is it possible to leave a newborn session without baby fever? (The answer: No!)

This lifestyle newborn session took place at their home in Northern Virginia when baby girl was seven whole days new! Her mom and dad were calm, joyful, and their home – peaceful. One of the greatest gifts of my job is being with families during their most joyful moments such as these; when they are bursting with the love and joy of new life! I love seeing my children like this: barefoot by the water, running around with sweaty, messy hair, pockets full of sand, and experiencing the magic of childhood. This is life right here and thank God for it!
