You guys, where did 2017 go? I know we moved and had a baby, but I look back on the year and feel like it came and went and….did I even blink?

I am so excited for 2018. My notebook is full of ambitious personal and business goals, which of course a few of them include reading, journaling, and blogging more  While I’ve been feeling grateful for all of the photos I’ve taken over the past six months, I’ve really been wishing I had journaled more. Not only do I want to remember all of the little things about my clients, photo experiences, and Sonia’s milestones, but I would love to work on my writing skills. I’ve missed reading and writing so much since I graduated college a few years ago and am hoping I can add in a little more of this into my life each week!

In the meantime, here are some of my favorite photos in the New Year so far!

This photo may not have been taken in 2018, but I can’t think of a better way to end the year than photographing Erik and Faith’s December 27th, New England winter wedding. Although Erik is from Norwood, Massachusetts, Faith is from Atlanta, Georgia, which made their Worcester, Massachusetts wedding feel like a destination wedding. Faith was so excited to have a white Christmas and a white wedding, she and Erik braved six degree temperatures for their snowy wedding portraits! Needless to say, it was well worth it – so dreamy!

I’m finally coming out of the newborn mommy stage and enjoying our neighborhood in Englewood, New Jersey, exploring New York City, and taking more photos every day. I always have visions of whimsical baby and children portraits, much like how I imagine their world to be! As I’ve been learning more editing techniques and practicing hand editing, I feel like I can bring these visions to life and it’s been SO. MUCH. FUN! Also, why is it that babies look so angelic when they sleep? I could snuggle and kiss that little face ALL DAY!

This poor baby has been teething this past week; just look at those rosy cheeks! We can see that first little tooth right at the surface – hang in there, Little Squishy!

Rassem has been traveling most weekends, so Sonia and I spent this past weekend with our New York family. My cousin, Michael had his first high school semi-formal on Saturday night. Eeee! He’s adorable!

Lastly, and going back to my mention of practicing hand editing, I have been re-editing some of my favorite photos. The first photo below I shot and edited in August 2016. The second photo is my re-edit today – what a difference!
