Winter showcases a peaceful, more intimate side of the city. The streets are quieter, the light is softer, and the timeless architecture creates a setting that feels both elegant and romantic for winter engagement photos in Washington DC. For Nikos and Corina, the season reflected their effortless style and the genuine connection they share. From cozy cafés to iconic landmarks, every stop throughout the afternoon felt relaxed, meaningful, and uniquely theirs.
Nikos and Corina made the trip down from Philadelphia for their session, and I was so thankful they did! Starting the morning over coffee gave us a chance to ease into the session naturally before heading out to explore Washington, DC. These photos ended up feeling so cozy, cute, and playful—the perfect way to begin the morning before making our way to the city’s iconic landmarks. Winter engagement photos in DC often mean bundling up against the cold, but beginning inside a cozy coffee shop made the whole experience feel relaxed and so perfectly them. Maman was equal parts sophisticated and inviting, with natural light, greenery, and thoughtful details that created a space full of warmth and character.
And if you ever find yourself at Maman, do yourself a favor and order the salted tahini honeycomb latte—it was every bit as delicious as it sounds.

From Maman, we made our way to the Library of Congress, one of my absolute favorite locations in Washington, DC for engagement photos. Few places offer the same timeless beauty, with ornately painted ceilings, intricately carved marble, and a sense of old-world grandeur around every corner. The historic architecture provided a stunning backdrop for Nikos and Corina’s portraits, perfectly complementing their sophisticated style while allowing their genuine connection to remain at the center of every image.

Our third location was Quill + Crumb Cafe. The dynamic lighting throughout the café created a beautiful interplay between highlights and shadows, adding depth and dimension. Surrounded by vintage details and a classic atmosphere that created an effortlessly elegant setting, Nikos and Corina brought a playful contrast with spontaneous moments of laughter with a competitive round of rock-paper-scissors. These are the moments that tell a true story of a couple: unposed, authentic, and joyful.

We finished our afternoon outside the Library of Congress and in front of Capitol Hill. There is nothing more iconic DC than the Capitol Building where history, architecture, and beauty come together in one unforgettable setting. The grandeur of the location paired beautifully with Nikos and Corina’s elegant style, creating a final set of portraits that felt both sophisticated and deeply personal.

Nikos and Corina share a gentle, playful, and effortless connection. When they look at each other, it is clear that no one else in the world matters. They are affectionate without feeling posed, playful without trying too hard, and completely at ease in one another’s company. Their chic style elevated each location, creating photographs that felt both natural and editorial. From meeting at camp to building a life together, their story has been years in the making—and this season is just the beginning of their forever.
